Curious American here. Are there any stories here where the hero introduces popular culture to the alternative history or magical world they come to?

I use Google translate or wait for English translation release. 

First time commenter here (yes, I'm American with no Russian language education, with only one Russian ancestor who moved to America more than a century ago). I've become a fan of some of "cycles"/series that have been translated to English and arrived here to jump ahead using Google translate. 

I'm looking for recommendations that have similar humor to this series, or like the works of Oleg Sapphire.
