Моё путешествие из России
Автор: Jenny YangI started my big journey from Russia, full of expectations and a little excitement. Having left my hometown, I headed to Belgium - a country that became my stopover, and also a kind of bridge between European comfort and the upcoming Asian adventure.
From Belgium to Tibet
From Brussels, I flew to China via one of the major European airports. It was a long flight, with a layover in Beijing. After arriving in China, I spent a few days in 成都, a bustling city known for its cuisine and pandas, but for me it was the gateway to Tibet. There I got all the necessary paperwork, including a special permit to visit Tibet (the so-called “entry pass”).
From Chengdu, I boarded a plane to Lhasa. Already in the air, as the plane flew over the mountains, I felt myself approaching something completely different. Upon landing, I was greeted by thin air and a landscape that seemed alien - high plateaus, snow-capped peaks and monasteries that seemed frozen in time.
I spent unforgettable days in Tibet: I visited the Jokhang Monastery, saw the Potala Palace and went on a pilgrimage to the sacred Mount Kailash. This journey not only tested my endurance, but also gave me much to think about. Meeting Tibetans, their calmness and sincerity left a deep mark on my heart.
This journey – from Russia (from Belgium to Tibet) – was not just a change of geography for me, but an internal transformation. When I returned, I felt like a different person – calmer, deeper and more grateful for this experience.
