Uncle Mikula, the narrator, takes real facts and adds fantasy to tell children his fairy tales about everyday life of Chuvash villages. The stories take place in the village of Konar and its surroundings.
The book has been written in Chuvash and translated into Russian and English. The author hopes that writing in her native language and spreading knowledge about the Chuvash language and culture might help raise awareness about this endangered language.
