He was shattered, crashed into the wall of the Regent’s immense hate. He couldn’t even keep himself in a trance and fell back into his body in ashes of his former self. He agreed to his own destruction, drowned in his own fear, in his self-pity, in the meaninglessness of his very existence. He was dead in his still-living body.
